Now that Halloween is over, and the holidays will be here before we know it, I thought it would be fun to show you a sneak peak into some design trends that you will be seeing more of in 2023.
I always like to say lighting is to interiors what jewelry is to a good outfit. It's the icing on the cake. In 2023, you can expect to see the following trends:
You can't talk about design trends and not talk about color. Whether you are painting walls or cabinetry or bringing color in through soft furnishings, color sets the tone for the whole space.
We will continue to see bringing the outdoors in to create a calming feeling. When you combine the five basic colors in nature-black, brown, white, green and grey- you get a nice peaceful interior that leans a little more modern in style.
Nature also has rich, warm hues like Sherwin Williams color of the year, Redend Point (SW 9081). I love the Southwest vibe this color evokes, and when done right, can be a great color addition!
Green is still everywhere these days and the darker the better! We are seeing it in furniture like with this green velvet couch and in cabinetry which work well in any design style.
Softer, rounded edges are everywhere. They are in the furniture that's trending like this crescent sofa to egg chairs and rounded coffee tables.
You'll also notice curves in architectural designs with arched doorways, rounded edges, and alcoves. Oval dining room tables are also gaining in popularity!
Monochromatic doesn't necessarily has to mean all white. You can make your room all blue or all green. The secret is to use different variations of the same color. This helps to give the room dimension. This laundry room I designed where we used different shades of green.
So there you have it! My top five design trends for 2023. Which one is your favorite? I'd love for you to follow me on Instagram or Facebook for more design tips!
