Hello Design Loves!! I am so excited to bring you todays post. If you ever wondered what my house looks like, then today is your lucky day LOL! I am going to be giving you a look inside my kitchen. When you are building a custom home, the sky is the limit really. But like with all projects I do, there are always investment considerations and the overall function is so important. So today I thought it would be fun to show you my favorite things about my kitchen.
Every once in awhile a client will reach out with a special request. This time my client said he wanted his house to feel like a pirate lives there. I immediately thought I hope he doesn't want me to literally turn his kitchen into a pirate ship LOL! Thankfully, we are were able to draw inspiration from that instead so we went with darker, more moody colors and lots of metal and wood accents.
I have to say I really love it when I get my hands on a home that has not been updated since the 1970's because the transformation is so big! This house needed all the bathrooms updated as well as the kitchen. Today I am going to show you the kitchen and half bath remodel, and then next month I will talk about the two bathrooms. Spoiler alert-their some of my favorite bathrooms!
Moving into a new home is exciting, but it can also be frustrating! Where do you put all your furniture into your new space and how do you make it your own? This is exactly what my new clients were dealing with when they moved into their new house. We turned an awkward space and made it into the grown up/kid friendly space my clients were wanting!
A few weeks ago I was able to take a quick trip to Atlanta to go to market and check out the latest in accessories for your home. I thought it would be fun to give you a look into what’s trending in home accessories and a little sneak peek into what’s going to be big in Christmas decorations this year!
Did you know that mudrooms/laundry rooms are now being called “disinfection stations”? Sounds a little clinical to me, so I’m just going to keep calling it a laundry room. And your laundry room is the hardest working room in your house.Whether you live in the Mississippi Gulf Coast like me and deal with sand everywhere, or you're up north dealing with snow, most laundry rooms need to serve several functions. It’s a landing zone for when you come into the house for shoes, purses, keys, backpacks, and all the things!
You never get a second chance to make a first impression. Your entryway gives guest a glimpse into your personal style and what your home says about you. Why not make it a powerful first impression?
Every year all the major paint companies announce their color of the year. They typically take a look at emerging design trends and choose a color that reflects what is going on in the design industry. So today I thought I would bring you the top three picks for 2022.
Since we are ending the end of the year, I thought I would take some time and answer your questions! I get questions from people all the time so today I am answering them for you. Everything from "do you do (insert service)" to "when should I call you if I want this done by (insert holiday)"
Taking on any remodeling project can be overwhelming. There’s much more involved than what you see on the 30-minute HGTV shows! So let’s talk about the five mistakes that homeowners make when they are going through a bathroom remodel and what you can do to avoid these problems!
The second step of any design project is known as the schematic design phase. This is just a fancy way of saying we are going to look at different design directions this project could take.
