Your entryway is the gateway into your home. It sets the tone for the entire house. It should be a statement of who you are and your own personal style.
Make a statement in your entryway by creating a statement wall. For this project, I wanted to immediately have visitors feel like they were entering a contemporary coastal retreat. I decided to use a faux grasscloth wallpaper in this beautiful blue color.
Now I know most people have a love hate relationship with wallpaper. But let me tell you, peel and stick wallpaper has come a LONG way! It’s very easy to install and the best part is, when you want to change it up, you just peel it off.
Adding artwork is a necessity for any space, especially an entryway. Here I chose a piece the homeowner already had from their time in Singapore. I also displayed this piece of pottery that the couple fell in love with.
Your entryway also needs to serve a purpose. Do you enter your house this way every day or is it something you only use when people come over? Either way, your entryway needs to not only look good, but function.
Now, to make this entryway functional, I started with a pretty area rug to help protect the floors from the sun coming in through the front door. I also had a custom console table built to hold keys and mail. Underneath we added baskets to hold the dogs leash for their morning walks. Add a mirror and a fun lamp and you’re all set!
