As a mom, I understand putting your needs second to your families. So when my client reached out to me about updating her master bathroom, I immediately wanted to give her everything she wanted! She had lived with this builder grade bathroom for years, and now that her children are grown and out of the house it was finally time to do something nice for her.
The first issue we needed to solve in this bathroom was the height of the vanity. Why vanities were built so low is beyond me. Designing a custom vanity gave her not only the functionality she needed but also the look she was going for.
The built-in garden tub also wasn’t functioning for her. This tub was so large and took so much water to fill it up, there was never any hot water left over! By getting rid of this oversized tub and replacing it with a relaxing freestanding tub, she’s now able to relax at the end of a long day. And who doesn’t want to look at this beautiful blue subway tile while relaxing in a warm bath?
Can we talk about this shower for a minute? I am obsessed. The original shower was a shower surround that was way too small. The fact that it had a little bench in it just made it smaller. Not to mention, the plumbing was so low that it didn’t work for her or her tall husband!
We extended the shower out to give them more space and installed a semi-frameless shower glass door which makes the space feel even bigger. The custom tile niche in this beautiful coral color is a standout for me. I love the surprise pop of color!
